Banana & Almond Butter Smoothie Bowl

Saturday, March 24, 2018

Smoothie bowls are THE best alternative to a regular smoothie. They feel like more of a treat as they’re thicker, a little more decadent, but just as healthy and super nutritious to boot.

I am literally a nut butter ‘nutter’ and can be found with my spoon in a jar probably too often! Therefore this one is a personal favourite of mine and so so simple to do.

I always keep a few bags of chopped frozen bananas in the freezer as they make the perfect base for a smoothie bowl. As well as bananas, frozen berries make a great addition and an added splash of colour.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 x Frozen bananas, chopped

  • 1 x Cup Coconut Milk

  • 2 x Tbsp Natural Almond Butter

  • 1 x Tsp Honey or Agave

Blend all the above ingredients until smooth, if you are using frozen bananas the coconut milk will help with getting the mixture smooth. Once this is done, turn out into the bowl or jar of your choice and choose your toppings:

You can top it off with pretty much anything you like:

Nuts: Almond flakes, walnuts, sunflower seeds, macadamias, peanuts, chia seeds etc

Fruit: Blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, coconut flakes, raisins, dates etc

If you are a nut butter ‘nutter’ like myself, you can always add an extra dollop on top of your smoothie bowl too.

Enjoy
