CBT is a type of therapy that explores a person’s current negative or unhelpful thinking processes and encourages them, with the help and support of a therapist, to develop new healthier way of thinking, feeling and behaving. Negative thinking can hold us back causing us to be fearful of new opportunities or moving away from the ‘norm’ because of the perceived risks involved.

CBT offers techniques to help promote positive change and to retrain our brain to think in a different, healthier way. This can takes time but with practice from the client support from the therapist our thoughts can change from being negative to positive enabling us to live an emotionally and mentally healthier lifestyle.

Please note: An eclectic mix of therapeutic approaches and any of our emotional wellness techniques may be used in the sessions by mutual agreement. The aim of therapy is to create an honest, congruent relationship with your therapist so it is important that you find the right one.
