What is Permanent Makeup?

Permanent Makeup, also known as micro-pigmentation, is a form of temporary tattooing for cosmetic purposes which allows you to have long lasting makeup. The procedure involves tiny particles of pigment being placed beneath the surface of the skin with a machine which uses a needle to complete this. This pigment will stay in the skin for a number of years, gradually fading with time. Although, the longevity of the results are unique to each person, and can depend on age, environmental factors and skin type. Micro-pigmentation techniques are the best they have ever been with a wider range of pigment colours to get that perfect match.

Who can have Permanent Makeup?

Everyone has to have a patch test if considering having permanent makeup, otherwise generally anyone aged 18 or over is all able to have permanent makeup, such as the younger generation wanting more shape or the older generation because they've previously over-plucked or those who may have conditions such as alopecia. However, some medical conditions may be a contraindication as permanent makeup is a form of tattooing. Consent and medical forms are sent in the post and if some medical conditions are flagged, there is a doctor’s consent form which will need to be filled out before the procedure takes place.

What to expect during the treatment?

If your patch tests have come back ok, a numbing agent will be applied onto the area being treated such as eyebrows. We will then sit down and go through the forms together and discuss the shape you are looking for. The design/shape will be drawn onto the area with brow pencil for you to check and agree together before starting the procedure. After the shape is designed, we will talk colours and place them on the skin closest to the treatment area i.e.: forehead for eyebrows (don't worry it doesn't stain!). This way we can colour match the pigment correctly whilst considering your hair, eye, skin colour and undertones.

What’s included in the price of the first treatment?

  • Consent forms and patch test sent in the post (most questions you may have will be answered in the forms - For example, what to do before receiving your treatment, FAQs and after care instructions etc.)
  • Initial treatment
  • A sachet of top quality after balm care to use whilst your eyebrows are healing will be provided.
  • Your fine tuning session is included in the price – also known as a top up session - first top up will be 4-8 weeks after your initial treatment.
