Avocado on Sourdough Toast

So, anyone who knows me knows that I am a little bit obsessed with Avocados!

I love this as a really, super simple and healthy breakfast. Apart from being absolutely delicious, preparation takes no time at all. Avocados are super nutritious and the sourdough contains just the right amount of slow release carbs to keep you energised all morning. Add the chilli oil and you will be stoking those digestive fires at the same time.

So, preparation is easy peasy:

  • 1 x Large slice Sourdough (bakery bought if possible)
  • 1/2 Large Avocado
  • Pinch Chilli Flakes
  • Drizzle Chilli oil

Toast your Sourdough bread to your desired ‘toasting’! Sometimes I smash up my avo, sometimes I want it to look pretty so I slice it as below. A squeeze of lemon is great in the smashed version, or if I slice it I simply drizzle lemon juice over the top afterwards. Place the Avo on top of the toasted Sourdough, sprinkle with Chilli Flakes and finish off with a swirl of Chilli oil. I love pepper crushed over mine also, but this is a personal preference.
